Partnership in the field of renewable energies

The Moroccan Institute of Research in Solar Energy and New Energies (IRESEN) and the Australian Research Center for Energy and Technology (CET) at the University of Adelaide, signed on Wednesday 3rd October in Casablanca, a convention of cooperation and partnership in the field of renewable energies.

According to this agreement, which was signed by IRESEN Chief Executive Officer Reda Ikken and the Australian Research Center Director, Mr. Gus Nathan, the two sides aim to explore jointly the possibilities of strengthening and optimizing their cooperation to support applied research and innovation in the fields of renewable energies, smart networks, energy efficiency, sustainable mobility, energy storage, water / energy linkages and green mines.

The CET and IRESEN also expressed their intention to collaborate to make research, evaluate and mutually define the feasibility of carrying out joint activities, as well as to evaluate and define the financial aspects and resources that may be required for these activities, notably the exchange of knowledge, through the organization of trainings, workshops and joint conferences, as well as the exchange of staff and students.

It is also about co-financing joint projects, and taking joint strategic initiatives including the development of tools of common interest (strategic roadmaps for innovation, value chain analysis and supply chain analysis).

The two parties also agreed, in this regard, to exchange information on joint investments in innovation infrastructure in Australia and / or Africa (incubators, relays), to promote together joint meetings with Australian, Moroccan or international institutions as well as insight and foresight activities. The signing ceremony of this convention, which took place on the sidelines of the 24th edition of SolarPACES, was chaired by the Minister of Energy, Mines and Sustainable Development, Aziz Rabah.
