Morocco participates in the annual OIC Iftar Dinner held in Canberra

 

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco to Australia participated on Friday, May 31, 2019 in the Iftar Dinner organized by the Group of Ambassadors of the Islamic Cooperation Organization accredited to Canberra in a joyful ambiance at the mythic Old Parliament house located in the Australian Federal Capital.

In this regard, the Ambassador of HM the King to Australia, Mr. Karim Medrek took part to this event alongside distinguished personalities representing the Australian Government, notably the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Diplomatic Corps accredited to Canberra as well as the academic institutions, Media and the members of the Muslim Community residing in Australia.

The objective of organizing this Iftar in such a symbolic place for Australians is to promote the noble values of the Holy Month of Ramadan by the OIC Group of Ambassadors and to share with the attendees the breaking of the fast, a moment of gathering to crown a day of fasting from sunrise to sunset.

The Ambassador of HM the King to Australia highlighted on this occasion the importance of the values of communication and tolerance among the peoples of the world countries, especially in the holy month of Ramadan.

He added that this Iftar ceremony constituted an occasion to highlight the cultural assets of the OIC member countries accredited to Canberra in an annual event marked by spirituality and harmony which tend to prevail in such a sacred month for Muslims all over the world.

In the framework of this event, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco to Australia, through its colorful stall, has offered a delightful variety of dishes, reflecting the authenticity and magnificence of Moroccan culinary Art.
