12th edition of the MEDays Forum

The 12th edition of the MEDays Forum organised by the Moroccan Think Tank "Institut Amadeus" under the High Patronage of His Majesty Mohammed VI, King of Morooco took place in the City of Tangier (North of Morocco) with the participation of 150 speakers coming from all over the world, including 80 Governmental Representatives and Hundreds of Investors, Business Leaders and Civil Society Representatives.

This event, which tackled this year "crisis of trust: facing uncertainties and subversion" witnessed the participation of various personnalities, notably Mr. Macky Sall, President of Senegal, Mr.Mohcine Jazouli, Morocco’s Minister Delegate to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Ivo Josipovic, Former President of Croatia, Mr. Jorge Lopes Bom Jesus, Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe, Mr. Riyad al Malki, Palestine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Jiarui Wang, chairman of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation.

The Grand Prize of this prestigeous Forum ( the most important in Africa and the Middle East Region) has been granted to the Senegalese President, Mr. Macky Sall for his active role and contribution to South- South Cooperation.

MEDays 2019 has constituted an occasion to engage in much-needed dialogue, by analyzing threats to global growth, the dynamism of international trade, security challenges, and the complexities of North-South politics as well as civil society movements.

This edition has equally shed lights on the African Union and the establishment of the Continental Free Trade Area. Speakers discussed the socio-economic impact of this area and its means of contribution to the continental integration, in addition to the accomplishment of the objectives of the 2063 African Union Agenda.

This year's edition has also been marked by the holding for the first time of the B2B Meetings " MEDays Africa Business" which constituted an occasion to establish contacts between Business actors and investors in the continent.

Furthermore, MEDays 2019 debated North-South and South-South cooperation and which one represents a priority for the African countries.
