 Morocco remains mobilized to defend its territorial and national integrity, Head of Government, Saad Eddine El Othmani, said Thursday in Rabat.

Morocco’s “protest against the separatists’ breaches was shared by the United Nations which called the Front to withdraw from Guergarate and not to change the situation in the buffer zone," El Othmani pointed out at the weekly cabinet meeting.

The recent report of the UN Secretary-General, he said, was "generally positive" and responded to Morocco's requests not to change the situation in the buffer zone.

Morocco, India Discuss Means to Promote Cooperation in Energy Sector

Minister of Energy, Mining and Sustainable Development Aziz Rabbah held, Tuesday in New Delhi, talks with several Indian officials from the sector of energy on means to promote bilateral cooperation in this area.

During his meeting with Indian minister for New and Renewable energy, Raj Kumar Singh, the Moroccan minister, who is leading a delegation on a working visit to India until April 12, commended the deep links between Morocco and India as well as the remarkable cooperation between Morocco's phosphate company, Office Chérifien des Phosphates (OCP), and Indian companies.

10th Morocco-USA Defense Advisory Committee Held in Washington

Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdelfattah Louarak, co-chairs the 10th Morocco-USA Defense Advisory Committee, which is being held on April 10-12 in Washington, said military sources.

Lieutenant General Abdelfattah Louarak leads a large military delegation, which will have, on this occasion, contacts and talks at the Pentagon level, added the same source.

The Spanish government has been questioned about crimes and abuses committed by the polisario against Sahrawi populations detained in the Tindouf camps, on Algerian territory.

President of the Association of missing persons of the polisario (APDP) Dahi Aguai sent, Tuesday, to the Spanish ministry of Justice a detailed file on cases of torture and enforced disappearances perpetrated by polisario torturers in the Tindouf camps.

HM the King and H.E. the French president discussed at length the situation in the Middle East as well as regional and international issues, the statement said, adding that the two parties noted a shared viewpoint in this regard.

Morocco has made significant efforts and progress for several years in the areas of human rights, democracy and the rule of law, Council of Europe Deputy Secretary General, Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni, said.

Battaini-Dragoni, who will pay a two-day visit to Morocco as of Wednesday, said in an interview with MAP that “the 2011 Constitution constitutes, in this regard, a fundamental step, even if Morocco was engaged in a reform process well before."

The African Union (AU) reform process is "a priority" for the Kingdom of Morocco, minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation, Nasser Bourita, said.

"A reformed AU will be a catalyst for intra-African cooperation, which Morocco has chosen as a flagship policy in its relations on the continent," Bourita pointed out in an interview published as part of a report made by the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) on the AU Peace and Security  Council (PSC).

UNESCO will launch a program on the prevention of extremism through youth empowerment in four countries, including Morocco, UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay said on Monday.

Speaking at the opening of the plenary session of UNESCO's Executive Board, Azoulay said that the program will be launched in two weeks in Morocco, Jordan, Libya and Tunisia.

Funded by the United Nations Counter-terrorism Centre (UNCCT) and Canada, the project is considered as a vital move towards engaging youth in the prevention of violent extremism.

Minister Delegate for administration and civil service reform, Mohamed Ben Abdelkader, will be the guest of Morocco's News Agency (MAP) forum, to be held on Tuesday in Rabat under the theme "the Moroccan administration facing the challenge of moralisation".

This meeting, to take place at MAP headquarters in Rabat starting 9 a.m., will be an opportunity to discuss the reform of the administration and civil service.

Mali wants to benefit from Morocco's successful economic experiences, Malian Foreign Minister Tieman Hubert Coulibaly said Thursday in Rabat following talks with his Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita.

Coulibaly, who mentioned in this regard the "dazzling development" of agriculture in Morocco as well as the "successful" Industrial Acceleration Plan, said that his country seeks to "take advantage of the experience of Morocco and its support on specific projects".

This economic cooperation should "create opportunities for prosperity in our two countries," he added.

Sahara Issue: USA 'Very Favorable' to Autonomy Plan

United States House of Representatives Majority Whip Steve Scalise said, Thursday in Rabat, he is "very favorable" to the autonomy plan in the Sahara, which he described as "credible and serious".

"We are very favorable to this plan, which is very credible and serious," Scalise told the press at the end of his talks with minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Nasser Bourita.

He added that Morocco has been forthright in trying to present a real solution to this dispute.

Malian FM Says Moroccan Autonomy Plan 'Serious and Credible'

Malian Foreign Minister Tiéman Hubert Coulibaly said, Thursday in Rabat, that "the autonomy project has been deemed serious and credible by several UN resolutions", adding that "it is appropriate to continue in this way to resolve this dispute amicably, with no clashes or violence".

Mali adopts "a position of constructive neutrality" over the Moroccan Sahara issue and hopes for a peaceful solution to this conflict, said the Malian minister in a statement to the press after his talks with Foreign minister Nasser Bourita.

Morocco will Strongly Resist Any Attempt to Change Status Quo in Buffer Zone

Head of government Saad Eddine El Othmani reaffirmed, Thursday, Morocco's total and categorical rejection of all attempts by separatists to change the status quo in the buffer zone, stressing that the Kingdom will stand firm against these attempts.

In the face of violations committed by the separatist front in the buffer zone, Morocco sounded the alarm and warned against any attempt to change the status quo in the region, El Othmani said in a speech at the opening of the weekly cabinet meeting.
