Morocco, an AfDB Strategic Partner

Morocco is a strategic partner of the African Development Bank (AfDB), said, Sunday in Tan-Tan, the Bank's country manager for Morocco, Leila Mokaddem.

Speaking at the opening of "the Green Investment Conference", held on the sidelines of the 14th edition of the Tan-Tan Moussem, Mokaddem stressed that the AfDB has been supporting economic development projects in Morocco for 50 years, including the Green Morocco Plan and the rural electrification project.

In terms of external conditions, the current account deficit narrowed in 2017, mainly due to easing trade deficit and higher travel receipts and transfers from Moroccans living abroad, the bank said in a press release following the 7th meeting of the Coordination and Systemic Risk Monitoring Committee held in Rabat.

Secretary of State for Water, Charafat Afailal, took part on Friday in Lyon, France, in the meeting of the Rhone Mediterranean Basin Committee, which is an opportunity for sharing and exchanging experiences on the management of water resources.

This meeting, which also aims at highlighting the partnership efforts made by Moroccan and French bodies in charge of watershed management, is part of the cooperation initiated in 2005 between the Agency of the Souss-Massa river basin and the Rhône Mediterranean Corsica Water Agency, the State Secretariat for water said in a release.

The Morocco-United Kingdom Strategic Dialogue was launched, on Thursday in London, by the signing of an agreement in the form of an exchange of letters.
