Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity: HM the King Inaugurates Medical Psycho-Social Centre in Mediouna Province

HM King Mohammed VI inaugurated, Sunday in Tit Mellil in the Mediouna Province (Casablanca-Settat region), a medical psycho-social centre, a solidarity-based project to provide psychological and social care for peoples with stabilized mental diseases.

Carried out by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity for 8 million MAD, this centre mirrors the sovereign's deep conviction to make the right to have access to services one of the main pillars for fostering citizenship and achieving a durable, comprehensive and integrated human development.

HM the King, Commander of the Faithful, Inaugurates in Casablanca Palestine Mosque, Performs Friday Prayer

HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, inaugurated on Friday in Casablanca the Palestine mosque, before performing the Friday prayer at this mosque.

The inauguration of this mosque reflects the attention granted by the Sovereign to religious affairs and his permanent will to endow the Kingdom with functional and aesthetic mosques.

The 14-million dirham project, which was carried out by the ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs on a surface area of 2,056 m2, has a capacity of over 1,630 worshipers.

Hakim Benchamach Elected New SG of PAM Party

The national council of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) elected, on Saturday, Hakim Benchamach as new secretary general of the party at the end of the extraordinary session of the said council.

Benchamach, who succeeds Ilyas El Omari in the position, won 439 votes against 39 for his competitor Mohamed Soulouh and 35 for Hadi El Hiba.

Health Minister Holds Talks in Geneva with WHO Chief

Minister of Health, Anass Doukkali, held talks on Wednesday in Geneva with WHO Director-General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, which focused on the means to enhance cooperation between the Kingdom and the WHO.

The talks also touched on the means to promote the Kingdom's sectoral health strategy, in particular in the areas of universal health coverage, health sector governance and health security.

HM King Mohammed VI held, on Tuesday, a phone conversation with H.E. Mahmoud Abbas, Abu Mazen, president of the State of Palestine, said a statement by the royal office.

 During this phone call, HM the King enquired about the health of the Palestinian leader following the surgery he had underwent, and wished him prompt recovery.

This phone call was also an occasion for the sovereign, in his capacity as chairman of Al Quds Committee, to reiterate his full commitment and his frank support for the lofty cause and the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people.

Kenitra Province: HM the King Launches Three Solidarity-Based Projects for Women and Youth

HM King Mohammed VI, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, launched, on Monday in the province of Kenitra, three solidarity-based projects meant to improve the economic and social conditions of poor women and youth.

The sovereign launched the building works of a house for families of fishermen in the Mehdia commune, a centre for vocational training and job integration in the Sidi Taibi commune and a centre for vocational training in agricultural logistics jobs in the commune of Souk El Arbaa.

AfDB Loans Morocco € 200 mln to Develop Agricultural Value Chains and Reinforce Sustainable Job Creation

The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved a EUR 200 million loan to support inclusive and sustainable development of agricultural value chains in Morocco.

This operation will support the creation of jobs in rural areas by developing inclusive value chains that will Increase the sustainability and effectiveness of jobs created through green governance and water resource management. It will also finance the implementation of agriculture, environment, employment and vocational training strategies, the bank said in a press release.
