Mr El Khalfi:'It Is Too Early' to Express Any Position Regarding Draft Security Council Resolution on Sahara Issue

 "It is too early" to express any position regarding the draft UN Security Council resolution on the Sahara issue, said, Thursday in Rabat, deputy minister for Relations with Parliament and Civil Society, government spokesman Mustapha El Khalfi.

"The draft resolution on the national issue is still under discussion and debate in the Security Council. It is therefore too early to express any position regarding this issue," El Khalfi said while answering reporters’ questions after the weekly Cabinet meeting.

The dinner, which was chaired by head of Government Saâd Eddine El Othmani, was attended by speakers of the Houses of Representatives and Advisors, Habib El Malki and Abdelhakim Benchamach respectively, members of the Government and representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Rabat, as well as by several other civilian and military figures.

Vietnam commends Morocco's action plan to obtain the status of Sectoral Dialogue Partner (SDP) within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Mounia Boucetta, said Tuesday in Hanoi.

Boucetta told MAP at the end of the meetings of the 4th session of Morocco-Vietnam Joint Committee and the 5th session of the political consultations between the two countries, that Morocco has stressed during these meetings its willingness to become an ASEAN Sector Dialogue Partner.

Morocco, Vietnam Agree to Enhance Economic Cooperation

Morocco and Vietnam agreed on Tuesday in Hanoi to take concrete actions to strengthen bilateral cooperation in several areas, including agriculture, fisheries, aquaculture, education and training.

At the 4th session of the Joint Committee, which was co-chaired by Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Mounia Boucetta, and Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vu Hong Nam, the two sides underlined the need to take advantage of the two countries’ economic potential, including through the Moroccan-Vietnamese business council and the exchange of business delegations.

2026 World Cup: CAF President Calls on European Federations to Vote for Morocco's Bid

President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Ahmad Ahmad, has urged European federations to vote for Morocco's bid to host the 2026 World Cup.

"We say to Europe, vote for us, we will vote for you next time. It's clear, it's democracy," Ahmad said in an interview with AFP on Monday.

"Time zones, distance, fans, this is a matter of interest for Europe (to vote for Morocco)," he said, adding that Europeans "do not need visas to travel to Morocco".

"For all this, we believe that Europe must vote for Morocco," said Ahmad, who chairs CAF since March 2017.
