During the meeting, the two sides underlined the important opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in the field of renewable energies.

Morocco Has Paid Its 2018 Regular Budget Dues in Full, UN Spokesperson

Morocco has paid its regular budget assessments to the UN in full for the year 2018 which amounts to 1,312,582 US dollars, UN spokesperson Farhan Haq said on Thursday.

Morocco is among the first countries to have paid in full their regular assessments, following the adoption by the UNGA in Dec. 2017 of UN 2018-2019 Regular Budget, which means within the 30 day due period specified in Financial Regulation 3.5 (by 9 February 2018).

Morocco thus responded favourably to the request by UNSG Antonio Guterres who invited member states to pay their dues for the UN regular budget.

All public authorities are mobilized to open up regions hit by heavy snowfall via the implementation of an intervention plan to weather the impact of the cold wave and snowfall, said on Thursday head of government Saâd Eddine El Othmani, noting that this plan involves 22 provinces, including 1205 villages under 169 communes, totalling a population of 514,000 inhabitants.

Over 700 Exhibitors at Casablanca’s 24th International Book Fair

More than 700 exhibitors will take part in the 24th edition of Casablanca’s International Book Fair (SIEL), which will be held on Feb. 8-18, minister of Culture and Communication, Mohamed Laaraj, said on Friday.

Some 350 writers, poets and researches from different backgrounds will take part in the SIEL 2018 edition, Laaraj pointed out at a press briefing in Casablanca.

The choice of Egypt as the guest of honor of the 24th SIEL reflects "the strong and renewed links between the two brotherly countries", he pointed out.
