Spain: Over 234,000 Moroccans affiliated to Social Security

Some 234,080 Moroccans were affiliated to social security in Spain by the end of last February compared to 232,151 by the end of January 2018, according to official figures.

Moroccans rank first among foreign non-EU workers affiliated to social security in Spain, followed by the Chinese (99,062 people) and Ecuadorans (68,456), the Spanish ministry of Labor and Social Security said Tuesday in a release.

The number of foreigners who are affiliated to social security reached in the same period 1,836,173.

GB: London Earmarks £ 3 Billion to British Companies Wishing to Export to Morocco

A £3 billion budget has been allocated by the UK authorities to support companies wishing to export their products to or settle down in Morocco.

This announcement was made Tuesday in London by representative of the UK Department for International Trade in Morocco, Jason Ivory, at the Moroccan-British forum on trade and investment, held at Mansion House, the official residence of the Lord Mayor of London.

Belgium Supports Morocco's Bid to Host 2026 World Cup

President of the Royal Belgian Football Association (URBSFA) Gérard Linard has expressed his support for Morocco's bid to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup, praising the great work done by the Kingdom in terms of development and infrastructure to host this global event.

Belgium will support Morocco's 2026 World Cup bid, Linard said at a meeting in Brussels with President of Morocco’s Royal Football Federation (FRMF), Fouzi Lekjaa, the FRMF said in a release. 

The URBSFA will also promote the Moroccan bid, he added.

Morocco, China Praise Quality of Long-standing Relations

Morocco and China highlighted, Tuesday in Rabat, the quality of their long-standing relations in a meeting between head of government, Saad Eddine El Othmani, and chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and president of the Chinese Chamber of International Trade, Jiang Zengwei, who is leading a large delegation of economic actors on a working visit to Morocco.

House of Representatives Adopts at Second Reading Bill on MAP Reorganization

The House of Representatives (lower house) adopted, Tuesday by a majority, the bill on the reorganization of the Moroccan News Agency (MAP), at second reading.

The bill passed by 175 votes, while 61 members of the House voted against and 34 others abstained.

Morocco's OCP Group and CEO of Saham Finances, Nadia Fettah, were awarded on Monday at the 6th Africa CEO Forum which is taking place in Abidjan (March 26-27).

OCP Group received the CSR Strategy of the Year Award, while Nadia Fettah was selected as CEO of the Year.

Speaking on this occasion, OCP Africa CEO Karim Lotfi Senhadji said that the OCP Group is committed to contributing to the development of agriculture throughout Africa.

For her part, Fettah said she was honored with this distinction, which rewards a genuine pan-African success story.

Oujda: Court Postpones to April 2 Trial of Seven Individuals Implicated in Jerada Events

The first instance court of Oujda decided, Monday, to postpone to April 2 the trial of seven individuals implicated in the events of Jerada.

The suspects are prosecuted notably for insulting public officials in the performance of their duties and violence against them leading to premeditated injuries.

They are also sued for their alleged involvement in vandalism acts and damage to public utility property, incitement to disobedience, failure to assist persons in danger and incitement to commit crimes and offences.

Ouarzazate to Host 8th International Meeting of Handicraft on April 4-23

The 8th edition of the international meeting of handicraft will be held on April 4-23 in Ouarzazate, at the initiative of the professional federation of handicraft.

Some 300 craftsmen are expected to attend this socio-economic and cultural event, which features India as guest of honor.

According to the organizers, the aim is to create a platform for meetings between handicraft professionals and to facilitate access to new techniques in the sector for the promoting and marketing of craft products.
