HRH Princess Lalla Hasnaa, chairwoman of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environment Protection, inaugurated the Rabat Hassan II Park.

Upon her arrival at the Park, Her Royal Highness reviewed a section of the auxiliary forces that paid the honors and was greeted mainly by minister of youth and sports Rachid Talbi Alami, wali of Rabat-Sale-Kenitra region Mohamed Mhidia and wali, director general of local authorities Khalid Safir.

Mauritania Welcomes HM the King's Proposal to Open Dialogue with Algeria

Mauritania welcomed the proposal made by HM King Mohammed VI, on the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of the Green March, to open a frank and direct dialogue with Algeria.

"We welcome any initiative and we wish it every success," Mauritanian Minister of Culture, government spokesperson Sidi Mohamed Ould Maham said at a press conference held after the weekly meeting of the cabinet.

Mauritania encourages and wishes every success meant to ensure the stability and security of the region, as well as good neighborliness, said the spokesperson.

Agriculture Minister Meets in Helsinki with European Officials

Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development and Waters and Forests Aziz Akhannouch met, on Thursday in Helsinki, with European officials.

Akhannouch met with European Commission President Jean-Claude Junker and European Parliament President Tajani Antanio.

The talks touched on issues of common interest, mainly in relation with the agricultural agreement and the Morocco-EU fisheries agreement.

These talks took place on the sidelines of the 25th Congress of the European People's Party.

Morocco was re-elected on Monday for a new term (2019-2022), with a majority of 133 votes, as one of the 48 members of the Council of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

The funeral of poet and author of national anthem Ali Skalli Hussaini, who died Monday at the age of 86, took place on Tuesday in Rabat in the presence of HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan.

After the Al Asr and the dead prayers at the Ashuhada mosque, the deceased was buried in the cemetery in the presence of mainly his family members, head of government Saad Eddine El Othmani, historiographer and royal palace spokesperson Abdelhak Lamrini and other figures from the sphere of culture and literature.
