The Kingdom of Morocco welcomes the provisions on the Moroccan Sahara contained in the 2019 US Appropriations Bill, adopted by the US Congress and signed Friday by President Donald Trump, which explicitly state that "the funds appropriated [to Morocco] under Title III shall also be made available for assistance in the Sahara".

Minister delegate for national defense administration Abdellatif Loudiyi held, Sunday in Abu Dhabi, talks with the Emirati minister of State for Defense Affairs, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bawardi.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the International Defense Exhibition "IDEX 2019", which kicked off earlier in the day in the presence of senior government and military officials from several countries.

During their talks, the two officials reviewed several aspects of Moroccan-EU cooperation and discussed ways to strengthen it, particularly in the field of defense.

European Justice Rejects Polisario Request to Cancel EU Council Mandate to Negotiate Fisheries Agreement with Morocco

The European Union (EU) court announced, on Tuesday, the rejection of a request by the polisario to cancel the mandate granted last April to the EU Council to negotiate the fisheries agreement with Morocco.

The court ruled inadmissible the polisario's request that the EU Council should not have to negotiate an agreement with Morocco including the waters of the Moroccan Sahara.

The European court also ordered the polisario to bear its own legal costs and those incurred by the Council of the EU and the European Commission in this stillborn procedure.

ADGM, CFC Ink MoU to Develop Financial Services

The Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) and the Casablanca Finance City (CFC) have signed on Monday a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster closer collaboration between the United Arab Emirates and Morocco and promote the development of financial services in the respective markets.

The MoU was signed by Dhaher Bin Dhaher Al Mheiri, Chief Executive Officer of the ADGM's Registration Authority and Said Ibrahimi, Chief Executive Officer of the Casablanca Finance City Authority.

Morocco expressed on Tuesday its "appreciation" for the collective action of the European institutions and EU member states, following the vote by a large majority of the European Parliament for the Morocco-EU fisheries agreement.

"The Kingdom of Morocco expresses its appreciation for the collective action of the European institutions and EU member states, (and) praises their continued commitment to the strategic partnership with the Kingdom of Morocco," says a statement by the ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
